The Best “Homemade” Lotion…Relief from Winter Dry Skin

Living in the Midwest means I am pretty accustomed to extreme changes. The summers are hot and HUMID and winters are cold and DRY. Dry skin has been a problem for me for as long as I can remember and I am always looking for a great lotion that isn’t too perfumey, greasy, and actually works. My Mother-In-Law brought us a tub of this “homemade” concoction and we all love it. It made enough to fill two vaseline tubs and two of the vitamin E tubs. It makes a great gift too and would be fun to fill pretty containers and maybe add a little of your favorite essential oils.

I was able to get everything at Dollar General

Ingredients

1 16.5 oz bottle Baby Magic

2 4oz. tubs of Vitamin E cream

1 7.5 oz. tub of Vaseline with cocoa butter

Mix well. I used my hand mixer and it did the trick! Just don’t lick the beaters. 😉

Shopping During Coronavirus…My favorites!

**This blog contains affiliate links and I may be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

These are unusual times friends. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster in every way. There have been many blessings, like more family time and appreciating the simple things but a lot of disappointments and challenges as well. Things like sport events, celebrations, church gatherings have all been cancelled but the seasons are still changing, people are still having birthdays and all of this time we are spending at home is bound to give you the urge to change up your home decor.

I started blogging because I have always had a passion for sharing things I love that make life a little better, easier or just more fun! I also love home decorating, crafts, clothes, art, photography and more recently getting in shape and staying fit! My love for these things has led me to discover several online companies that absolutely love and use frequently for business or for fun. I find myself recommending them to friends all the time which inspired me to become an affiliate for several of them! Because “traditional shopping” is not really possible right now and because I truly love these brands, I thought I would share them and maybe fill a need for someone or just take your mind off things for a while with a little online “window shopping”. Many of these companies are also small businesses so if you happen to make a purchase you will be helping them as well.

Decor Steals

Check out their amazing home decor here:

Oh what I wouldn’t give to go down to the West Bottoms here in Kansas City and walk around some of my favorite home decorating shops. Since that isn’t an option right now, this family owned business is the next best thing. With new “steals” coming out every day it’s become a favorite place to check out and buy some fun things to update our home. One of my favorite pieces in our entryway came from here years ago…our giant angel wings!

Cricut

This year I decided to spend my Christmas money on a Cricut Machine and I am so thankful that I did! I have used it so much and absolutely love coming up with new designs and creative ideas. My favorite thing so far has been designing shirts but I have so many projects and ideas I want to try! If you don’t have a Cricut yet, or if you need some supplies for yours you can check out all of their machines, tools and products on their site where there are almost always sales and bargains!

Also, here is my Etsy shop if you would like to check out some of my designs. 🙂

Minted

Well this is company just speaks to my soul and I think it’s one of the coolest things and best places to get personal gifts, beautiful art, invitations or many other unique items. Independent artists submit their work and then it gets voted on and the winning submissions are sold on the site. I recommend them to many clients because of both their photography related items and their beautiful invitations and save the dates but it’s also a great place to find meaningful gifts for loved ones!

Canvas On Demand

https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=497139&u=2302976&m=18580&urllink=&afftrack=

Get those beloved photos on the walls! Canvases are my favorite way to display our family photos and Canvas On Demand is my “go-to” for all of our canvases. The quality is fantastic and they won’t break the bank! If you feel like you are sitting around staring at the same ‘ole walls lately, this is a great way to mix things up a little.

Stitch Fix

Click here to schedule your first Fix and try it out!

In the middle of all of this “staying at home” the world is still turning which means the seasons are changing and although you might be spending a little more time in your pjs or leggings than usual, you are going to want to wear real clothes at some point. I actually have been making it a point to put on some cute clothes and do my hair and make-up most days of the week. It just feels good to look good. I also recently lost a lot of weight (which I will be sharing next) and none of my clothes from last spring or summer fit. I LOVE Stitch Fix for so many reasons.

  • A box full of clothes picked out especially for you arrives on your doorstep as often as you like…how fun is that?!
  • The quality and fit of everything I have received is amazing!
  • I hate returning things. It’s usually such a hassle. But Stitch Fix makes it so easy to return anything you don’t want. Just throw them in the postage paid package enclosed with your Fix and drop them in the mail!
  • You can try pieces on with clothes you already own! It’s a lot easier to decide if you would actually wear or use something when you can see how it looks with things you already own!
  • Skip Fixes anytime. If you don’t want to receive your regularly scheduled Fix, simply go online and skip it. No obligation at any time!

Noom

So this isn’t really shopping, but it is something amazing that I have to share because it literally changed my life in so many ways and also because now is the PERFECT time for it to change yours too! Years of putting everything and everyone before myself resulted in putting on some extra pounds that I did not love. I had no interest in any weight loss program I had ever seen though because most of them involved depriving yourself of things and made no sense to me long term. I didn’t just want to lose weight, I wanted to get fit and healthy in a realistic way that I could keep up for life. I saw something about Noom on social media, read only a little bit about the program and new it was for me so I tried the free 2 week trial which I loved (and lost 5 pounds doing) and was hooked. I started in September of 2019 and hit my goal weight (35 pounds lost) on Christmas Eve and let me tell you it was the BEST Christmas gift I could have ever given myself. I decided to lose another 5 pounds…because why not and now over 4 months later I am easily maintaining my perfect weight, started working out and run 5k weekly ( I was training for a race that has sadly been postponed but I will keep running and be ready!). This program is real. It deals with the mental aspect of why YOU eat what you eat and helps you relearn how to eat in a healthy way while enjoying anything your heart desires in moderation. I got so excited about this program and the thought of sharing it with others that it is the very thing that inspired me to become an affiliate and use my platforms to share all the things that I love. CLICK ON THE NOOM PHOTO ABOVE TO GET YOUR PLAN, START YOUR TRIAL AND START LOSING! You won’t regret it and when you can finally leave your homes and see friends again, won’t they be surprised!!

The Gift of Gift Giving…(on time and on budget)

2019-05-20_0001.jpg
I love giving gifts to people. I love letting them know that they were in my thoughts and are important to me. I am not, however, known for getting cards and gifts to people on time. I have good intentions, but I also have two very busy (and expensive) kiddos and between the lack of time and/or money when a gift-giving occasion pops up…sometimes I’m just not prepared for it. I have been doing a lot spring cleaning and organizing this year though and decided this needed to change.
Kids come with a lot of gift-giving moments. You find yourself suddenly needing gifts for friends’ birthday parties, teachers, family members, teammates, coaches, etc. I needed to find a way to be ready when one of these moments popped up. One day I grabbed one of those free local parenting magazines on my way out of the grocery store to read while sitting in the school car line (ughhh…the car line!). I was excited to see there was an article about this very topic! I was already in the process of turning over a new leaf in the gift-giving department and was looking forward to finding some more tips. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the recommendations in the article which included going to garage sales for gifts and just using your Christmas gift bags no matter what the occasion was. I will touch on these suggestions later but the point is that this article made me realize I already had better ideas and should share them. So here ya go:

1) Be Prepared.
Don’t wait for an occasion to come up and THEN hope you have the time and/or money to get a gift for it. See a great sale on little items or something perfect for someone (even if you won’t have a reason to give them a gift for a while)?? Go ahead and take advantage of it and tuck it away for later! Holiday times, seasonal sales, annual events are all great times to find great deals on things that might make the perfect gift for someone later on in a pinch! One of my favorite ways to do this is by taking advantage of Bath and Body works coupons that come in the mail regularly. 2019-05-20_0008.jpg
They always include one coupon for a free item (which is small bottle of lotion) so don’t let those go to waste! Stash those little suckers away and add them to a gift card or box of candy for a great gift! OR, if you see the PERFECT gift for someone but don’t have a reason to give them a gift for a while, get it anyway! I am so guilty of seeing things and thinking “Sally would LOVE that” but not buying it because I didn’t ned a gift for her at the time. Not anymore. I recently saw a shop going out of business and saw they had something a friend of mine would love on clearance so I grabbed it up and stashed it away for later.

2) Be Organized
One gift-giving tip EVERYONE I know takes advantage of is re-using gift bags. Although if all I have on hand is Christmas bags, I will go out and buy new ones contrary to the advice that was given in the article I read. I love saving money but don’t love LOOKING cheap. Our biggest problem with the gift bags (as well as tissue paper, wrapping paper, boxes, etc.) is that we stored it all in the basement and it wasn’t super convenient to go dig around, find what we needed, come upstairs for the tape and scissors, and THEN possibly have to haul everything to another room to hide and wrap (if the gift is for another member of the household). I remember reading a book by Tori Spelling years ago and her talking about her mom’s “gift wrapping” room. I thought it seemed a little extreme and silly at the time but guess what I have now?2019-05-20_0002.jpg
2019-05-20_0004.jpg
2019-05-20_0003.jpg
This is a little “sitting room” off of our master bedroom that we have never really had a perfect use for. Instead of trying to make it one specific room it has become the room for everything that doesn’t already happen in another room of the house. The steamer is in there for the laundry that sits in the basket too long waiting to be folded (always), a desk for my husband to store his crap… ahem I mean stuff, our luggage is stored in there so it is close to the closets and NOW there is a corner designated for gift wrapping!!! If you don’t have an “everything room” in your own home, a small corner of a closet, craft room, storage room or office would be fine too. You can find a lot of organizing ideas for wrapping supplies on Pinterest too including ideas for inside cabinet or closet doors if you don’t even have a spare corner. For our wrapping area I picked up this free cabinet that I found on a Facebook Swap Page, painted it up and put shelf paper inside. I use it to store scissors, tape, boxes AND gifts that I have purchased for people in advance. For the tubes of wrapping paper I use an old wicker hamper but a plastic one from the dollar store would do the trick too! I did buy the metal shelving and some “S” hooks to hang the tissue paper and gift bags, but they weren’t too expensive. I LOVE having this space to go to when it’s gift time and especially love that if my kids have gifts to give they love going in and picking everything out and wrapping them on their own! Some things I might still add: A large calendar above the cabinet to keep track of birthdays and other gift-giving or card-sending occasions coming up (and check them off as I find gifts for them). Also a small box with divider tabs to store greeting cards for all occasions .

3) Be Frugal
Notice I said frugal instead of cheap. Technically they mean the same thing I suppose, but I think of frugal as meaning “not spending money you don’t have to spend” and cheap as “not being willing to spend what it might take to get something good”. For example when I read the article about using Christmas gift bags for every occasion and getting gifts for your kids’ friends at garage sales, I thought “cheap”. Don’t get me wrong…I love a good garage sale find and if you know a kid that collects Pokemon cards and come across a sale where someone is selling their collection…PERFECT! But the article seemed to suggest that you just head to the closest garage sale and grab something and that kids don’t mind if it’s used, as long as it’s useful which is sweet in theory, but maybe not always 100% true.
So what are my “frugal” tips? First of all DO NOT spend $5 on a greeting card that the recipient will quickly glance at and then throw away (and if they are kids, maybe not even glance at). Cards have gotten so expensive and I don’t know about you, but I would rather put that money towards a gift. I completely refused to buy greeting cards for my kids’ friends for a while and we would just make a little “to and from” to put on their gift bag or I would have my kids make them a homemade card instead. But sometimes you do NEED a card and thank goodness I found the best secret ever! The Dollar Tree! They have a great selection of cards and as you would guess they are almost all $1! And guess what? The ones that AREN’T $1 are 50 cents!! I didn’t even know the Dollar Tree had anything that wasn’t a dollar, let alone LESS! And they are nice cards too! Lots of Hallmark cards and they always have a display with cards for the upcoming holiday that are those fancy, scrapbooky, 3D type cards. 2019-05-20_0005.jpg
I stop in the Dollar Tree once or twice a month and stock up on certain things and always grab some cards. Check out this deal I got one trip.

While you are there, grab some tape, gift bags and tissue paper to keep your gift-wrapping room well stocked and take a few minutes to browse in case there are any good small gift ideas! It’s a great place to get gifts for teachers…dry erase markers and erasers, flash cards, highlighters, glue sticks and other supplies they are always in need of. Grab a pack of Ferrero Rocher chocolates while you are there and then a free Bath and Body lotion from your gift station at home and you can create a great gift basket for a few dollars!
No matter how prepared or organized you are though there is always going to be that invitation that your kids forget to show you until the day before the party and you are low on cash. I have solutions for these moments too. The first one I like to call “keep the change”. I don’t pay for things with cash often, but when I do I don’t ever give exact change…always all bills. When my billfold gets full I dump the change into a little bowl at home. If something comes up (like a sudden gift that is needed), I take the change to the nearby coinstar at the grocery store and get bills for it to use as spending money. It’s surprising how much a small bowl of change usually adds up to and it’s a way to save money in small amounts over time without even realizing you are doing it. The coinstar machines usually charge between 9-10% although I know some of them offer gift cards instead of cash and if you go that route I don’t think there is a fee. Of course you could always go to your bank as well.
Another way to save up for emergencies is to use apps such as ibotta, shopkicks, etc. Earn money and then save it up to use when needed!

And Lastly…
4) Shop SMALL! This is one you will hear from me time and time again because it’s important to me. Anytime you can shop from a small business do it. When you shop small, not only are you helping an individual or family but you are almost ALWAYS going to be purchasing a product that was made with love, is more personal and unique than what you can find in the chain stores, and is sometimes a better deal and often better quality.

Whether you are rolling in Benjamins or pinching every penny, most of us wouldn’t mind a little more money. When I decided I was ready to stay at home with my kids while building my photography business, we crunched the numbers and knew that we could make it work, but things would be a little tighter. I wanted to make sure we still had some “fun money” to be able to do things together as a family because that is very important to us, so I started looking for ways to cut costs, save and even MAKE a little extra money. They are all easy and some are even fun!

1) STORE SAVINGS PROGRAMS: If you are like me, you automatically say “No thank you!” when you are checking out at a store and they ask if you would “Like to save 10% today by signing up for a blah, blah, blah credit card”, and you should. However, I was doing the same thing for quite a while at Target when they asked if I would like their REDcard Debit Card and that was a mistake. The REDcard acts just like my debit card which is what I would normally use anyway EXCEPT you save 5% off every purchase, get FREE shipping from Target.com and get an extra 30 days to make returns. The only downside for me is that unlike using my regular debit card where my purchases immediately come out of our account, it takes a day or two and sometimes I forget that two days ago I went in for lip balm and walked out with $50 worth of treasures so I am surprised to see that decline in our account. 😉  (Just kidding…I don’t do that.  Often).
If you have a grocery store that has a fuel saver program or other rewards program, take advantage of that too! I love Hyvee’s fuel saver program and save a ton on gas. Obviously the key is to not buy things you don’t need just to score the fuel discounts, and not to spend more on a brand with a fuel saver discount than another brand without it if it’s not worth it, but even when following those rules, I never pay full price at the pump. When gas got REALLY low this spring I paid $6.40 for a FULL tank of gas!

2) SAVING MONEY…THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT!: Actually there are several. Here are a few of my favorites.

HOBBY LOBBY~ If you ever shop at Hobby Lobby you know that the items in the store all take turns being “50% OFF” which is actually just a reasonable price for the item in the first place. If the item is not 50% off, it is A) Way too expensive and B) will probably be 50% off next week. So what’s a girl to do when you really need (ok, usually it’s not need…it’s WANT but we will discuss this later) a huge, fantastic piece to go on a blank wall right now (and let’s pretend it’s not Sunday because that’s when I usually feel like I “need” something from Hobby Lobby) and there is only 1 left and it’s NOT 50% off? You use your Hobby Lobby App. There is always a weekly coupon for 40% off one regular price item that is not on sale! It also shows you what IS on sale for 50% off and other sales and offers.

SHOPKICK~ I’m still kind of new to this one, but basically it’s an app that you can go into before walking into a store and it gives you “kicks” or points for just walking in the doors, scanning certain items with your phone, and sometimes for making purchases (although I haven’t figured this part out yet). You can choose where you would like to receive your reward from and once you get enough kicks you get a gift card from them. You can choose to get small rewards more often, like a Target or Walmart gift card which you only need 500 kicks for however I believe it is a $2 card, or you can save all the way up to 3,400 kicks to get a $10 gas card or up into the 75,000- 125,000 range to get a $300 Coach gift card, T.V., or mixer! The kids think it is fun to earn kicks and when we have a little extra time we turn it into a scavenger hunt looking for the items to scan and letting them scan them.

YOUR BANK’S APP~ This app alone may not actually save or make you money, but being able to check your balance, make deposits, and transfer money anywhere, anytime is always a good idea when trying to stay on budget.2015-07-27_0008.jpg

3) NAME YOUR PRICE FOR CABLE~  Well, not just ANY price, but you know how you were ok with the original price of your cable package when you signed up with your company?  And then at some point it either snuck up to a crazy  amount or jumped up all at once?  That’s the game they play and a lot of people just go with it, but you don’t have to.  When you notice an increase in your cable bill, call your cable company and tell them you aren’t happy with what you are paying for their service anymore.  They will “take a look at your account” and let you know that promotions have expired which is why it has gone up.  Again, let them know that you aren’t interested in paying the amount that it has gone up to.  Next they will see if they can find a way to lower it which will usually start with asking if you want to drop down to a lower package.  Tell them, you aren’t really wanting to do that and that you were happy with the price you were paying for what you were getting previously and if they aren’t able to do that again you will start shopping around to see what kind of rates you can get from someone else.  They will transfer you to another individual who will eventually put your promotions back on.  Set aside a good half hour for this call.  They used to recognize callers who “knew the game” and get them to the end result fairly quickly, but I have found they play “hard to get” now and it takes a little longer…but don’t give in.  You will usually end up getting your monthly bill back down to where it originally was and often even lower in the end.  Your promotions will drop off again at some point and you will have to do this again.  They will usually tell you when that will be and even tell you to call back then to get it back to where you want it.

4)  DO SOME FINANCIAL HOUSEKEEPING~  In this day and age many of our monthly expenses come out of our account automatically.  You just get used to seeing them come out and don’t really think about them.  But are you really still USING them?  Do you have a gym membership, but can’t remember the last time you went to the gym?  Are you paying for XM radio, but could totally live without it?  Take a look at your account and clean out any recurring monthly expenses that you really don’t NEED.  Which leads me to NEEDS vs. WANTS.  I know you learn the difference as a child so this seems obvious, but sometimes after we have lived with a particular WANT for a while, we think of it as a NEED.  When I started staying home,  one of the first things I did was get rid of my fake nails.  Although I had spent months or maybe even years saying “Ugh, I NEED to get my nails done” they were definitely not a need and after getting rid of them, not only did we have that extra money, but I also loved not having to stress about keeping them up and the extra time that I had not having to get them done.  There are probably several regular expenses that are WANTS in your budget.  See how much you can save by cutting several of them and then every once in a while go ahead and pamper yourself and feel good about knowing that you aren’t dipping into the family “fun money” to do it.

5)  STOP EATING OUT~  Ok, so you don’t love cooking or maybe you just aren’t that great at it.  Everyone starts somewhere and cooking a home-cooked meal is not only WAY less expensive than eating out, but it also gives you control of what goes into your meals and what your family is eating.  Plus, the smells and tastes of “mom’s recipes” are  wonderful memory for your children.  I have many of my mom’s recipes that she made regularly and every time I make them it takes me back to my childhood kitchen or dining room table.  I love that my kids are enjoying some of those same recipes.  If you never really learned how to cook and don’t know where to start, there are so many great resources these days.  Pinterest has a ton of great and easy recipes.  Be specific in Google searches to find “healthy 30 minute meals”, “slow cooker recipes” or “easy casserole dishes”.  Get together with a friend and do a “recipe trade” where you go through each others recipes and share your favorites (I would probably also have some wine involved in this get-together).  For a family of 4 I know that what I spend in weekly groceries for 3 meals a day would be blown in about 3-4 meals out at cheap restaurants.  Huge waste of money.

6)  FACEBOOK SWAP PAGES~  Facebook swap pages or garage sale pages are a fantastic way to not only make a little money, but also get rid of some stuff you no longer want.  Whenever I have a WANT come up or the kids really want to go do something like see a movie, I often like to see if I can make the money to pay for it by selling a few things in our “garage sale corner” in the basement…even if we have plenty of money sitting in the account to cover it.  I like to teach the kids that if we want to do or buy certain things, we need to make the money to pay for them first.  If you haven’t tried a facebook swap page, just go into facebook and search the name of your city and “garage sale page” or “swap” and you should find several options to join.  Then start posting photos and information on what you are selling and people will hopefully start buying.  Check to see if there are rules…there usually are.  Sometimes making the pick-up arrangements can be a pain, so I usually don’t bother with things less than $5 but there have been several times I have been able to find something I no longer need and make a quick $20 or more.  These are also a great place to find deals on needs and wants without having to pay full price.

7)  BARTER/TRADE SERVICES~  If you have a profession or even a hobby that provides a service for people, you can most likely find other service providers that would gladly trade their service for yours.  Being a photographer, I have used this with hair and make-up artists who will sometimes provide their services to my clients for their sessions in exchange for their own mini photo session, print credit, etc.  Recently I was just thinking about how I really wanted to get something new done with my hair and stumbled across (on a FACEBOOK SWAP PAGE) a hairdresser who wanted family photos taken and was looking for a photographer to exchange services with so just like that, I have credit towards two hair appointments and won’t have to spend a penny…just some of my time.  I am also thinking of finding another local photographer to trade family photo sessions with because we desperately need new family photos and trying to take them myself doesn’t sound like fun at all.  Bakers, photographers, apparal embroiders, hair and make-up artists…or anyone who provides a service may be willing to barter with you.

 (cake image from pinterest)

8)  CONSIGNMENT “BOUTIQUES”~  Sometimes clothes are a WANT, but let’s face it, they are also a NEED.  Of course it’s ok to go spend money on nice new clothes from time to time, but there are also some great consignment “boutiques” that only except name brand and great condition clothes and you can often find great options to bulk up or refresh your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

9)  SPENDER= FAMILY ACCOUNTANT~  One change we made right away when I started staying home with the kids full time was that I became what my husband likes to jokingly refer to as “his accountant”.  When people ask him about doing, buying or donating something you will often hear him say “Let me check with my accountant”…(me).  Although my photography business has really taken off in the last few years, he is still the main breadwinner in our family.  I, however am the one who does 95% of the spending.  I am the one who grocery shops, takes the kids for haircuts, does the back-to-school shopping, birthday and holiday gift shopping, clothes shopping, etc.  Whoever does the majority of the spending should also be in charge of paying the bills and taking care of the family budget.  Before I stayed home, he was paying the bills and I was doing the spending and that didn’t work.  There were times he had large bills scheduled to be paid but they hadn’t come out of our account yet so I would check our balance and think we were good to go and buy the kids new clothes or spend money on something else not realizing that money was already accounted for.  I now know what bills come out of what paychecks, and when the best times usually are to take care of those extra expenses that always pop up.  If I know an activity or event is coming up that we will be spending a lot of money at, I might pay some bills early so that we have extra money when that event comes.

10)  SAVE FOR LARGE EXPENSES~  We used to kind of have the attitude that we would deal with big expenses as they popped up.  This often meant putting them on a credit card and then trying to pay them off with interest.  Now I am big into not owing anyone money.  There are several large expenses that we can plan for well in advance so now when my husband gets a bonus at work, my business has an extra good month, or maybe we sell some things on a Facebook page, instead of going out and blowing it on something, we put it away towards those expenses.  Once we know we have all of them covered we can officially consider extra money “extra”.  Another way to save money for these expenses is by doing a “52 week money challenge” which you can find here.  I tried this last year and did well for a while but didn’t like how the amount increased as time went by or that December was going to be the month I needed to set aside the most money (Christmas time is not a great time to try to find extra cash).  Also, I pretty much NEVER use cash so not only was it a pain to try to put the right amount into the jar, but also if something came up where one of my kids was going somewhere and needed cash, it was way too tempting to just grab some from the jar.  You can find a better version (in my opinion) of the savings plan here.  If I were to do it again I would probably try it this way and keep the money in our savings account so that I could just transfer the amount over from our regular checking account each week.  I would still keep track of it on paper as a reminder to do it each week and of how much money was a result from the challenge (and because I’m an OCD list keeper).

I would love to hear from you!  Leave a comment and let me know which tip(s) you are most excited to try, or come back after you try them and let me know how much you are saving!  Or if you have your own great money-saving tips…share those too!  Happy Saving from Happy Accidents!

Buster

Meet Buster. He is a 1 year old Shih Tzu and Poodle mix that we adopted from a shelter in Madison, Kansas. He is housebroken, doesn’t shed, rarely barks, and is very sweet and calm. Actually lazy is probably a better word, but he is slowly starting to play a little more as he gets comfortable in his new home.

We had been pet free for a few years after all of our animals grew old and passed away and were waiting for the kids to get old enough to help out with pet responsibilities and also to figure out what would be the perfect pet for our family. Since our last round of pets, we had moved into a new home, got some new furniture and weren’t really excited about going back to some of the disadvantages that can come with having a pet.  So glad we took our time and really considered what
we were looking for in a pet before jumping into anything!  Buster is such a great little guy and was worth the wait!
